Solar power is becoming increasingly popular in different parts of the world. People are becoming conscious about the environment and as a result of that, they are now moving towards renewable energy. With renewable energy like solar power, wind power, and more, we can fight climate change and also preserve non-renewable energy for the coming generations.

The government along with some people are developing large solar power plants so that the masses can take advantage of this renewable source of energy. Recently, UAE has announced its plan to develop the world’s largest solar power plant in the deserts of the Gulf. The contract was awarded to Abu Dhabi National Energy Company and Masdar. The state-owned Emirates Water and Electricity Company has plans to generating over 2GW power through this solar power plant. That’s not all, the entire UAE is committed to increasing the country’s total renewable energy capacity to a whopping 9GW by the end of 2025. The country has also stated that its share of renewable energy is going to increase from 7% in 2020 to 44% by the end of 2050. To achieve this goal, the country has announced several incentives to boost solar power plant installation.

You might not know this but Abu Dhabi is already home to one of the world’s largest solar power plants, Noor Abu Dhabi, that can generate over 1.2GW. Not just the UAE, different countries are now aggressively pushing solar power plants. Despite the Covid-19 crisis, the government of UAE is heavily investing in solar power plants

UAE isn’t just a country full of words; its actions support its goals. The renewable energy tariffs in UAE are the lowest in the world. In fact, year on year, their prices are declining even more. In fact, the country seems to have record-breaking prices, and as a result of this, many people in the UAE are inclining towards solar power.

The UAE was predominately known for exporting oil and gas. However, very soon there will renewable energy have added to that list.

Looking at the speed at which UAE is moving towards renewable energy, other countries are now gearing up. India, the USA, and other top countries too are focusing on increasing their capacity to produce renewable energy, distribution of this energy, offering incentives to renewable energy companies, and controlling the selling rate of solar power.

We’ve spoken a lot about the growth of solar power in the UAE, but now it’s time to look at the benefits of using solar power. Some of the top benefits of using solar power include low cost, low carbon emission, environment-friendly, and so on. In fact, many of those who have installed solar power plants are now selling the excess solar power generated to earn income.

If you are interested in installing a solar power plant or want to know the benefits of renewable energy, reach out to an expert. Now is the best time to install a rooftop solar power plant in the UAE. Let’s get you started now!
